The Refuge Runner Decoy Bag is built for public land hunters and for those who like to be mobile. Features a deluxe padded backrest with padded shoulder straps and waist belt, all positioned perfectly on the bag so it doesn’t hit the back of your legs when walking. One side has a compartment for a spinning wing decoy and poles while the other has a pocket for your shotgun. Additional features include multiple cinch straps to tighten your load for stability or to reduce the volume of the bag for carrying less decoys, large gate mouth opening for easy stuffing, and tough, durable construction for years of abuse.

My experience with Rig’Em Right gear has been its well made and durable so buying this runner decoy bag was a must when it was available in NZ. I have used it a few times since purchasing it a few weeks back and so far handles the job well. No matter what bag with a dozen large decoys and heavy ‘j’ weights plus gear bag, ammo and Robo duck – the pack is heavy. Add in the gun, and it’s a load to carry 1.5kms into the wetland plus 400m plus in the deep mud and water. The bag was comfortable and the straps easy to adjust. The best feature without doubt is the wide mouth with a fixed top so getting stuff out was easy. Overall a great purchase which will get a hammering. Two small suggestions that I personally would change ; 1/ the chest strap needs to have longer adjustment as I cannot use it with waders on and jacket being worn, 2/ and I would make the clip and strap system for holding the fore end and barrel of my shotgun with Velcro – as the straps kept coming loose with constant movement which made the gun slop about. Overall though very happy !!!
