Mystery Ranch Size guide for Men's and Unisex Packs
It has been Mystery Ranch's mission to create the best load carrying equipment in the world, they’ve set out to achieve the best fitting, most comfortable pack harnessing systems possible. Over the last few years, they spent countless hours measuring and fitting hundreds of different body types and logging the results to better understand how their customised fit interfaces with all different body types. The result has been a new sizing configuration that fits just about every human out there and unifies MYSTERY RANCH pack sizing across the board.
Getting Your Size
The key to a confortable pack load is a properly fitting backpack. Mystery Ranch have designed a more custom fit into their packs with simple sizing based off two measurements. To find the appropriate size waist and yoke for your pack, collect the following two measurements, then reference the sizing chart below.
1. Waist Circumference - Measure around your waist just above the top of your hip bones (roughly two fingers below your belly button).
2 Torso Length - Use a tailors tape or string and have a friend measure between the bony bump at the back of your neck (C7 vertebra) to the spot on your spine behind your belly button.

In Between Sizes?
If you are between sizes on the waist belt, we recommend you choose the smaller size. It is very important that the waist belt is able to securely tighten around your hips. If your waist belt is too big you will have a hard time getting the weight in your pack to transfer from your shoulders to your hips. If you are between sizes on the yoke or if your measurements fall outside standard sizing, please contact us.

The upgraded METCALF is a versatile workhorse with enough volume for a week in the field but compressible enough for an afternoon stalk. Built onto the Guide Light MT™ Frame, the METCALF has ample heavyweight capacity, and the OVERLOAD® feature keeps bag contents clean when packing out game. With a detachable lid, dual stretch-woven side pockets and full-length side zip access, this pack is a favorite among hunters looking for versatility and all-around utility.
The new GUIDE LIGHT MT™ FRAME continues the load carriage tradition of the tried- and-true Guide Light Frame™ and its rigid yet dynamic frame system, but with a few discrete changes. It really is a do it all pack. I’ve used for overnight missions up to week long trips. Supper comfy to carry and the load shelf means you can expand your pack to carry your extra food on the way in and then load it with meat for the way out. Epic!
Great pack, exactly what I needed
Only 1 trip... so far
I did an overnight summit trip in the knee deep June snow. I was easily able to move up and down the mountain. The pack was solid.
Day two was heavy, wind blown snow. When I got near the valley floor, the snow turned to sleet. In the forest, the trail was over grown and I was soaked through. Everything in the pack was dry. Which meant that once clear of the forest, I could sort myself out. I am very impressed.
Great versatility with freedom to dump gear and go light. Quality gear that will last a long time even with hard use.
